Biography

A former diplomat and international lawyer, Finau Heuifanga Limuloa is currently the Humanitarian Diplomacy & Disaster Law Delegate for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Pacific office in Suva.

She works in the Pacific region supporting 14 governments to strengthen their disaster related legal frameworks on issues such as international humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction, shelter and housing, land and property. This support is ideally rendered during “peace-time” or before a disaster strikes however she has also been deployed to work alongside governments in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster.  In 2015 she was awarded a National Presidential Medal by the President of Vanuatu for her services to the humanitarian response during Tropical Cyclone Pam.  Finau holds qualifications from Victoria University (NZ), Hong Kong University (Hong Kong SAR) and Oxford University (UK).

In her spare time when she is not running after (or from) her 5 & 6 year olds, Finau enjoys spending time with her family, reading and the luxury that is uninterrupted sleep.”
